Description
Production Operations Leadership
- Serves as the primary leader for nightshift production operations, overseeing production execution, scheduling, and workflow to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time output targets are achieved.
Planning, Scheduling and Execution
- Assesses, plans and schedules production to ensure product availability and shipping requirements are met.
Operational Efficiency and Continuous Improvement
- Leads execution of scheduled work to maximize productivity, minimize cost, and improve quality. Accountable for department efficiency goals, tracking downtime, and developing and implementing improvement actions. Recommends changes to materials, workflows, and facilities to enhance operational effectiveness.
Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoots production problems and ensures machinery, equipment and facilities are functioning and operating properly for efficient production. Reports process, facility or equipment problems, and collaborates with management and maintenance to ensure safety and minimize downtime.
Performance
- Analyzes production performance data and operational metrics to monitor results, identify issues and trends, and support informed decisionmaking related to productivity, quality, and efficiency.
Culture
- Promotes and maintains a culture and environment of continuous improvement based on comprehensive development and execution of lean business practices.
Environmental, Health and Safety
- Holds overall responsibility for environmental, health and safety during night shift. Leads emergency response and escalation activities for security and safety incidents, inclement weather, and other urgent situations in the absence of onsite EHS leadership.
Cross-Functional Guidance
- Provides onsite leadership and guidance to support functions operating during night shift, including quality, distribution, and technicians, ensuring alignment, coordination, and timely issue escalation in the absence of functional department leaders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
- Supervises the daily activities for a team, ensures productivity, sets priorities and manages work schedules.
- Provides leadership for a large nightshift production team, including production associates and leads, trains/coaches team members on performance, completes performance evaluations and recommends pay actions. Participates in and provides input into hiring and termination decisions.
