Qualifications



  • Minimum 8 years of experience creating and managing Oracle databases and technologies
  • Experience with versions 122 and newer both standalone and multiinstance Real Application Clusters
  • Demonstrated strong expertise in diagnosing and resolving database performance or reliability issues
  • Strong background and handson experience administering Oracle Enterprise Manager ecosystem including agents repositories and management servers in a highlyavailable loadbalanced configuration
  • Familiarity with RedHat Linux OS versions 6 and newer
  • Proven track record of implementing and administering Oracle DataGuard for replication
  • Able to work independently and balance multiple concurrent projects with mid to longterm deliverables
  • Hands on development and maintenance of UNIX Korn or Bash shell scripting
  • Ability to provide technical direction to others including application developers
  • Comfortable in highpressure situations able to communicate well with both technical peers and leadership
  • 4year degree BA or BS or equivalent work experience in a related field of study

Responsibilities



  • Work with Delta Oracle Engineers and our service providers to deliver a highly available resilient and performant database environment
  • Build new or upgrade patch existing databases and associated software in accordance with vendor best practices
  • Deliver required database functionality that meets project requirements on or before defined due date
  • Ensure the detailed physical design of data structures and database complies with enterprise build and configuration standards and processes
  • Install configure and maintain Oracle database and Enterprise Manager software on database and application servers as required
  • Provide consultation to application development teams on Oracle database technical issues and techniques
  • Conduct database performance testing and tuning user configuration security and support processes including gather stats database backuprecovery partition administration etc
  • Ensure Deltas Oracle database environment is secure provide recommendations for improving database security and implementing approved security remediations
  • Coordinate downtime with application teams and system engineers to implement approved changes
  • Interface with vendors and managed service partners to resolve operational issues or questions
  • Follow established IT DBA policies and procedure

  • The Database Administrator is responsible for data analysis and database management Database Administrators typically are involved in maintenance enhancement designing of data dictionaries physical and logical database models and performance tuning Database Administrators are also responsible for understanding configuring and managing database administration tools Provides database support for business applications and schedules back up jobs for user databases Provides access control password resets account creationdeletion and checks IP compliance violation report review compliance updates and compliance set ups Performs data purging and data replication activities Researches on connectivity issues and recurring errors in Application database Responds to database s and takes appropriate actions Provides escalation Level 1 and 2 Technical 24x7 support Performs database creations Performs performance tuning and troubleshooting for database Performs application database maintenance and provides technical assistance to users Manages database account access and database object changes Ensures that monitoring and s are properly in place to meet monitoring requirements Performs application database and OS scripting Reviews Information Protection compliance reports and notifications for individual databases and internal processes including compliance updates and compliance set ups Performs data purging and data replication activities
  • Performs database recovery from logs hot amp cold backups ExportImports and Disaster Recovery Performs database creation decommissioning and database updatesmigrations to a higherlower version or cross platform migrations Also involved in database schema and object refresh activities Monitors and reports existing database Instance Database Server activities for CPU Memory and Cach logs performance and recommends effective resource utilizationemergency recovery procedures
  • Provides Escalation Level 2 Technical 24x7 support Performs Business ContinuityDisaster Recovery activities during Business Continuity Plan events Plans schedules and implements operating system software installs and patches including 3rd party tools using change management and release management processes Implements database security and auditing features and periodic reviews Conducts root cause analysis for repeated incidents
