Overview

The Section Manager for Electric Vehicle ("EV") Program & Data Analytics Strategy is responsible for leading the development, execution, tracking and monitoring of the strategy to ensure Con Edison and New York State clean transportation and e-mobility goals and targets are achieved. The Section Manager will be responsible for conducting analyses, developing and leveraging analytics tools, tracking and optimization of existing EV programs, designing new EV programs, developing and incorporating market intelligence, and partnering with staff across the EV department and external stakeholders to ensure successful program delivery aligned with state policy goals. The Section Manager will also work closely with the EV leadership team to align the organization around a common strategy and support successful program design and implementation.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead the work with the EV department teams as well as other internal stakeholders to shape, integrate, and optimize multi-year program portfolio goals and develop and prioritize strategic initiatives for each calendar year.
  • Lead continual analysis of EV programs, clean transport market conditions, EVSE and network service provider data trends and standards and recommend program design changes that allow for achievement of Company targets and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead strategy for cross-program data analysis to develop insights into program effectiveness, market trends, EVSE utilization, charging behavior, and other metrics that may inform future program design and/or effectiveness metrics
  • Monitor and ensure close integration with program operations of near-term strategy on a frequent basis and as part of an annual and multi-annual strategic plan.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams to achieve defined goals and outcomes.
  • Experience providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback to support individual and team development.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative, high performing teams while effectively managing priorities and resources.
  • Develop analyses and partner with operational teams to implement effective adjustments to program, budgetary and regulatory needs and market changes.
  • Lead development of program dashboards and document and monitor decisions and actions and report on progress to the departments leadership team.
  • Partner with program operational teams to design new incentive strategies to optimize program performance.
  • Develop strategies for improving program operations and impacts, including rates and affordability analyses, program performance improvements, or operational updates.
  • Lead development of functional requirements for software tools that leverage advanced methodologies like artificial intelligence to improve program operations and provide market insights.
  • Lead cross-functional teams responsible for new strategic department initiatives that may arise from time to time.
  • Provide problem solving, guidance, and strategic support to the department.
  • Develop communications and represent the Companys interest to external stakeholders such as the New York State Department of Public Service Staff and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of work experience with 3 years of relevant work experience including in clean energy, electric vehicle, or other relevant industry. or
  • Master's Degree and 6 years of work experience
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree Degree in business, sustainabiltiy, energy-related discipline, economics. and 8 years of work experience 5 years business work experience in clean energy or electric vehicle or utility industry.
  • Master's Degree MBA Preferred and 6 years of work experience
Relevant Work Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize data into business insights and communicate findings clearly in oral and written deliverables, required.
  • Ability to work effectively with ambiguity and lead in a dynamic environment, required.
  • Experience with financial analysis, with familiarity with utility financials a plus, required.
  • Demonstrated experience developing creative solutions to strategic challenges, required.
  • Strong communication, presentation, writing, and analytical skills, required.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to maintain a big picture perspective while attending to detail, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams to achieve defined goals and outcomes, required.
  • Experience providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback to support individual and team development, preferred.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative, high performing teams while effectively managing priorities and resources, preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading business or corporate strategy development, preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership of diverse, cross-functional teams to drive business results, preferred.
  • Experience and or knowledge of the New York State regulatory environment and key stakeholders, preferred.
  • Experience presenting analyses and recommendations to senior executives, preferred.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and build stakeholder consensus, preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
