Job Summary We are hiring an Audio Visual Technician I to support the installation of commercial AV systems across a variety of environments including corporate offices, retail spaces, schools, industrial facilities, and healthcare sites. This role is hands on and focuses on installing, mounting, terminating, and supporting AV infrastructure including displays, speakers, and cabling systems. This is a contract to hire opportunity with long term growth and exposure to industry leading AV technologies. Schedule and Project Environment
- 7am start time
- 40 to 45 hours per week
- Local branch based work across corporate, retail, school, industrial, and healthcare environments
- Installing commercial AV systems in active job site environments
Job Responsibilities
- Install projectors, TVs, speakers, amplifiers, and sound masking systems
- Mount hardware on various wall and ceiling types for displays, speakers, and microphones
- Install and terminate low voltage AV cabling including 18/2, coax, Cat5e, and Cat6
- Terminate RG6, HD-SDI, SDI, XLR, and RCA connections
- Route and dress cable from IT closets to end device locations including racks, TVs, and projectors
- Install cable pathways including J hooks and D rings
- Perform cable management including dressing and labeling
- Read and interpret blueprints and installation drawings
- Follow written and verbal instructions from leadership and project teams
- Maintain a clean and safe job site in compliance with OSHA standards
Required Experience
- 1 to 3 years of commercial AV installation experience
- Experience working in commercial AV environments including corporate, retail, education, industrial, or healthcare settings
- Familiarity with AV hardware including speakers, microphones, amplifiers, projectors, racks, and displays
Required Technology and Systems Experience
- Experience with AV control and DSP platforms including Crestron, Extron, QSC Q-SYS, and Biamp
- Experience working with Dante audio networking
- Exposure to AV system integration and configuration is required
Tools and Equipment
- Basic hand tools including multi bit screwdriver, tape measure, snips, needle nose pliers, channel locks
- RG6 cable stripper, coax cable crimper, punch down tool
- Flashlight, tool pouch, and appropriate work boots
- PPE including gloves and job site safety gear
Additional Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- OSHA 10 preferred
- Ability to work on ladders and scissor lifts
- Comfortable working in confined spaces
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds
- Ability to stand and work on feet for full shifts
