Responsibilities

Hermitage Hall (a UHS company)is one of Middle Tennessee's largest stand-alone psychiatric residential treatment Hospitals. Licensed by Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services as a mental health residential treatment center for children and youth, Hermitage Hall has provided services to families for over 30 years.

We are currently looking for a Residential Director to join our team of dedicated professionals. This role requires a full background check including fingerprint, drug screen, and employment verification.

Position Summary:

The Director of Residential Services (DRS) provides continuous, 24-hour leadership and oversight of the therapeutic milieu across all residential units. This role is responsible for the direct supervision and support of Shift Supervisors, Lead Mental Health Technicians, Mental Health Technicians, and the Staffing Coordinator. The (DRS) works collaboratively with the CEO, COO, Director of Nursing, and Director of Clinical Services to advance the organization's mission and ensure high-quality, resident-centered care. Through effective leadership, communication, and management, the (DRS) plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for all residents. Additionally, the DRS is responsible for overseeing program operations, measuring and reporting program outcomes, and developing, implementing, and maintaining program policies and procedures to ensure compliance, quality, and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists to plan, direct, and delegate responsibilities to subordinates as necessary.
  • Assists to administer & uphold all policies and procedures of the organization to meet and comply with regulatory agencies on required periodic basis.
  • Assists with monitoring of daily operations of the facility via on-site supervision and delegation of duties to facility staff.
  • Ensure monthly compliance of staffing needs to include appropriate staff-to-client ratio.
  • Assists to develop and implement specific programs, in accordance with organization's policies, to benefit the residents.
  • Acts as a liaison between HR and Residential to coordinate recertifications and all trainings as they align with corporate and state policies and timelines.
  • Implements the behavioral program to include clinical interventions.
  • Participates in evaluations, counseling, and disciplines of shift supervisors and direct care staff.
  • Maintains on-going communication with administration as it relates to milieu status, patient acuity, staffing changes and other clinical and personnel issues

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's Degree
  • 3-5 years of related experience
