Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Architect to lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise infrastructure platforms. This role serves as a senior technical authority, providing strategic direction and hands-on leadership across on-premises, virtualized, and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate operates with a high degree of autonomy and ensures systems are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with organizational goals. This individual will also act as a key escalation point and mentor for IT staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions aligned with business and application needs

  • Design and implement enterprise architecture, including system standards, performance objectives, and technology roadmaps

  • Develop comprehensive project plans covering cost, timelines, staffing, and technical requirements

  • Establish and oversee change management, recovery, and fallback processes to ensure operational continuity

  • Conduct feasibility studies and define system and user requirements

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex technical challenges

  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans or resources to ensure successful delivery

  • Provide on-call production support, including incident response and service restoration

  • Mentor and guide IT staff; may include supervisory responsibilities

  • Partner with PMO and project teams to evaluate technologies and define technical specifications

  • Ensure alignment with industry best practices such as MOF and ITIL; participate in governance bodies like CAB

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure lifecycle strategies, including modernization and retirement of legacy systems

  • Promote quality improvement, safety, and a culture of diversity and inclusion

  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and corporate standards

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 9+ years of professional experience in Information Technology or a related field

  • Expert-level experience with:

    • Windows Server

    • Active Directory / Azure

    • VMware

    • Microsoft Exchange / Microsoft 365

  • Advanced PowerShell scripting expertise

  • Extensive experience in enterprise production environments

  • Strong knowledge of SAN design and deployment

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while leading and mentoring others

  • Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with current organizational software and hardware platforms

  • Hands-on experience with HPE Nimble or HPE Alletra (provisioning, snapshots, performance monitoring)

  • Ability to train and guide IT staff on established standards and best practices

  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft, Cisco, or related technologies
