Under the general supervision of the Assistant Dean and Director, the Director of Recruiting Relations & Business Development supervises the recruiting relations and business development team at the Parker Career Management Center (Parker CMC), facilitating recruiting relations between employers and MBA students at UCLA Anderson along with outreach and development of additional MBA-focused employer partnerships. Parker CMC serves approximately 600-700 Full-Time MBA students through a range of career services, including the Campus Recruiting Program, one-on-one advising, career workshops, peer coaching, and career development programming. The Parker team currently consists of 14 employees. In this leadership role, the Director must demonstrate exceptional leadership, collaboration, and management skills to drive Parker's core goals: excellent student satisfaction, strong employment outcomes, and effective relationships with MBA employers worldwide. The Director is expected to think strategically, act decisively, and continuously identify opportunities to strengthen Parker's value proposition to both students and employers. Recruiting Operations The Director oversees all aspects of the Campus Recruiting Program, including: * Managing recruiting relations staff, operations, and customer service across all recruiting activities (150+ in-person and virtual events with 80+ organizations in 2025-2026) * Collecting and analyzing recruiting metrics to inform strategic decisions and report on program effectiveness to senior leadership * Managing and updating recruiting technology platforms (primarily 12Twenty) to optimize workflows, reporting, and data integrity * Collaborating closely with the Parker advising team to address student and employer relations issues and ensure a seamless, high-quality recruiting experience for all stakeholders Employer Relations & Business Development The Director will play an active role in new business development to expand recruiting opportunities for UCLA Anderson MBA students. Key activities include: * Identifying and prospecting new employer partners across industries and geographies through targeted outreach to companies not currently engaged with Parker CMC, building a pipeline via networking, industry events, and market research * Developing tailored pitches and value propositions to attract new employer partners aligned with student career interests and evolving market trends * Partnering with the Assistant Dean and Senior Advisor of Employer Relations to develop and execute a strategic outreach plan, including organizing employer site visits and on-campus engagement events * Representing UCLA Anderson at external conferences and industry forums to elevate the school's profile and build relationships with prospective recruiting partners Team Supervision & Partner Management This role supervises the team that manages recruiting relationships with over 100 companies that hire MBA students hosting over 150-200 activities each year, so this is a significant external facing, relationship development role. This person would personally manage 30+ companies. As manager of the recruiting team (up to 4 staff when fully staffed), the Director will: * Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities to build a high-performing team * Strategically monitor and balance employer account assignments to maximize relationship quality and coverage across the team * Evaluate the effectiveness of employer relationship-building efforts and implement data-driven improvements on an ongoing basis * Oversee the annual recruiting calendar and lead cross-functional coordination to execute key activities on time and at scale * Develop and maintain strong working relationships with campus partners-including student clubs, student affairs, facilities, catering, parking, and administrative offices-to ensure smooth planning and execution of recruiting activities and events throughout the year * Foster a collaborative, resilient team culture that remains focused and motivated during peak recruiting season while effectively managing complex employer situations and competing priorities Work Environment This position operates in a hybrid work environment, with three days per week on-site at UCLA Anderson and two days remote. During prime recruiting season, typically in the fall and winter quarters, the role requires flexibility to work evenings to support recruiting events, employer engagements, and student activities. The Director is expected to be present and accessible during these critical periods to ensure smooth operations and provide strong leadership to the team. |
