Job Summary

The 12K Forklift/Telehandler Operator is responsible for safely operating a 12K rough terrain forklift/telehandler to move, lift, load, unload, and position materials and equipment on heavy civil construction projects. This position requires strong equipment operation skills, attention to safety, and the ability to work alongside field crews to support daily construction activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Operate 12K rough terrain forklift/telehandler equipment to transport and place materials throughout the jobsite.
  • Load, unload, and move construction materials including pipe, steel, concrete forms, pallets, tools, and other jobsite supplies.
  • Safely lift and position materials using forks and approved attachments.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues or safety concerns.
  • Follow project plans, safety procedures, and OSHA requirements while operating equipment.
  • Assist craft crews by delivering materials and supporting daily production activities.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings, including workers, structures, utilities, and changing jobsite conditions.
  • Work with supervisors and foremen to coordinate material handling needs.
  • Maintain accurate communication with ground personnel during lifts and material movement.
  • Perform basic housekeeping around equipment and work areas.
  • Follow proper rigging, lifting, and load-handling procedures.
  • Operate equipment on uneven terrain and in outdoor construction environments

Required Qualifications


  • Minimum 3 years of FL Experience
  • Strong understanding of safety practices and maintenance procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively and follow directions effectively


Work Environment & Location


  • Ability to travel to different job sites and/or states as required
