Associate Manager, Valuations Control

Locations: Edina, MN (Hybrid), Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid)

About the Role

SS&C is seeking a Financial Valuations Analyst to join our growing valuations team. In this role, you will support valuation oversight, pricing analysis, and governance across a wide range of complex financial instruments. You will work closely with clients, market data providers, and internal teams to ensure accurate pricing, resolve discrepancies, and strengthen valuation frameworks aligned with industry best practices.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Oversee pricing procedures supporting daily and monthly NAV calculations and internal reporting
  • Perform analytical reviews across asset classes including equities, fixed income, FX, options, swaps, and credit derivatives
  • Investigate pricing discrepancies such as tolerance breaks, stale prices, and insufficient price support
  • Manage price challenge processes with third-party pricing vendors
  • Partner with clients to resolve mis-priced or unsupported valuations and present findings to valuation committees
  • Conduct due diligence and ongoing assessments of market data providers
  • Perform statistical analysis to evaluate and refine price tolerance thresholds
  • Support portfolio testing across multiple pricing sources to guide vendor selection
  • Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and valuation guidance
  • Contribute to automation initiatives by defining business requirements for technology solutions

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in financial valuations or pricing across multiple asset classes
  • Strong knowledge of equities, fixed income, and OTC derivatives
  • Experience with pricing and analytics platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters EIKON, IDC Vantage)
  • Experience working with market data providers such as Bloomberg BVAL, Markit, or similar
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex valuation concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

What Sets You Apart (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Graduate degree and/or professional certification (CFA, FRM)
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Experience presenting to valuation committees or senior stakeholders
  • Exposure to valuation governance frameworks and best practices
  • Experience contributing to automation or process improvement initiatives

Actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location. California: The expected base salary for the position is between $85,000 USD to $130,000 USD. Minnesota: The expected base salary for the position is between $60,000 USD to $90,000 USD. In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for consideration on an annual basis for a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based upon individual and business performance at the company's discretion.
