Job Summary

The Head of AI Center of Excellence (AICOE) is responsible for establishing and leading the enterprise execution capability that enables AI to scale safely, consistently, and with measurable business impact. Rather than owning individual projects, this role owns the system through which AI and automation solutions are identified, delivered, adopted, and industrialized across the organization.

Acting as the central bridge between business leadership, Technology, Data, Architecture, and Governance, the AICOE Leader ensures business problems are translated into deployable AI solutions and that successful patterns are reused across the enterprise. Success is defined by sustained operational and financial outcomes, not experimentation or tool deployment.

Operating at executive leadership level, this role requires a senior, hands-on transformation leader who has previously scaled AI or automation initiatives in complex organizations. The individual will mobilize cross-functional teams without reliance on hierarchy, create clarity in ambiguity, and establish the operating rhythms, standards, and delivery models that allow AI adoption to accelerate over time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Enterprise AI Execution & Capability Leadership

  • Lead and evolve the AI Center of Excellence as the enterprise engine for AI execution, learning, and scale.
  • Establish delivery frameworks that translate business opportunities into deployable AI solutions.
  • Ensure AI moves consistently from pilot experimentation into operational capability embedded within business workflows.
  • Build repeatable approaches that allow AI initiatives to be delivered faster, safer, and with increasing impact over time.

AI Portfolio & Value Realization

  • Own intake, prioritization, and orchestration of enterprise AI initiatives aligned to strategic and financial outcomes.
  • Partnering with Portfolio Management and Finance, ensure initiatives deliver measurable improvements across:
  • operational efficiency and productivity
  • cost structure optimization
  • revenue enablement and growth
  • risk reduction and compliance
  • EBITDA contribution.
  • Embed value tracking, baselining, and performance measurement into all AICOE activities.
  • Align AI investments to enterprise planning and financial governance processes.

Business-Technology Integration Model

  • Establish a repeatable engagement model connecting business sponsors with Technology, Data, Security, and Architecture.
  • Translate operational and commercial challenges into executable AI opportunities.
  • Ensure business ownership of outcomes while enabling scalable delivery through shared platforms and standards.
  • Embed AI initiatives into business operating rhythms and performance expectations.

Scaling & Industrializing AI Delivery

  • Define pathways for scaling successful pilots into enterprise adoption.
  • Institutionalize reusable assets, patterns, and delivery playbooks.
  • Prevent fragmented adoption by aligning initiatives to enterprise architecture and governance guardrails.
  • Drive continuous learning loops across deployments to improve delivery speed and quality.

Governance Operationalization

  • Operationalize enterprise AI governance into practical delivery mechanisms.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Data leadership to embed guardrails directly into workflows.
  • Enable responsible AI deployment while maintaining execution velocity.
  • Ensure adoption remains controlled, auditable, and aligned with enterprise risk tolerance.

Organizational Adoption & Capability Building

  • Lead the organizational shift toward AI-enabled ways of working.
  • Establish adoption frameworks focused on behavioral and decision change rather than tool usage.
  • Partner with HR and leadership teams to define new role expectations and capability development.
  • Build communities of practice and AI champions to sustain enterprise adoption.

Executive Engagement & Enterprise Leadership

  • Partner directly with executive sponsors to shape and prioritize transformation initiatives.
  • Provide clear executive insight into adoption progress, risks, financial impact, and organizational readiness.
  • Support board-level reporting and enterprise AI governance forums.
  • Establish AI as a sustained operating capability embedded within the organization's long-term strategy.
