Description As a Sr. Life Underwriter II you will underwrite new business life insurance policies within predetermined monetary guidelines, in accordance with policy and in compliance with government regulations. You will evaluate and apply risk classification principles to life insurance applications consistent with the expectations of the actuary. The leader is looking for a local candidate (Des Moines, IA) and someone with 6+ years of Life Underwriting experience. Daily Duties: Will perform life underwriting duties for 15 states. It is up to the state to handle their own insurance - 15 states outsource their insurance to us. They also support 8 states in regards to property and casualty. This role will work closely with agents and will rely on each other to communicate through phone and email. Work out of a Underwriting Work Bench system - user friendly when handling workload. Cases are pushed out and each Underwriter will work through each case as it is pushed out. Underwriters will solely focus on underwriting duties as leadership on the team will support agent questions and follow up. Performance is maintained by reaching service level agreements as a team; each individual can see if they are reaching service levels and the goal is to maintain service level goals and deadlines.
