Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Director Financial Systems and Data Solutions. Primary Function: Responsible for the strategy, delivery, and operations of our financial data ecosystem - anchored in Workday Financials and Databricks environment. Leads the Financial Systems and Data Solutions team to support the Finance Division and other LOBs utilizing financial data. This role ensures highquality, auditable, and timely financial data flows from source to output, enabling accurate close & consolidation, regulatory reporting, and strategic decisionmaking for the credit union.


Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the Finance Systems & Data roadmap across systems (particularly Workday Financials and Databricks) in partnership with the Enterprise Architecture team to align with business priorities.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of data experts, setting standards for delivery, documentation, and service levels.
  • Oversee the technical operations of the Finance Division including reporting, analysis, SQL query review, and working with the Enterprise Architecture team to weigh in on data warehouse architecture decisions
  • Serves as subject matter expert for financial data, IT governance, and Workday data warehouse (Prism).
  • Support the data needs of Accounting, Finance, Treasury, FP&A including management and development of division specific tables such as participations and FTP.
  • Responsible for working with Enterprise Architecture for timely implementation, testing, integration and monitoring of new SQL query programming to support Finance initiatives.
  • Work with the Finance leadership team to assist in the development and implementation of long-range strategic plans to address the evolving information processing needs of the Finance division.
  • Remain current in emerging data analytic trends primarily related to the financial services industry.
  • Liaison with other departments across the Credit Union including IT, Banking Division, Risk, Operations, and others to ensure Finance data needs are being met.
  • Work to develop and support department KPIs
  • Conduct regular meetings to provide staff with updated department and Credit Union initiatives. Evaluate and coach employees on a regular basis and provide appropriate feedback. Responsible for employee training and development. Mentor departmental staff on assignments and promote team environment.
  • Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years equivalent experience for each undergraduate year not completed; undergraduate degree cannot substitute for minimum number of years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Workday Financials certification(s) preferred.
  • Databricks Vertified Data Analyst Associate preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years Leadership and people management experience is required.
  • Minimum 5 years Finance/accounting experience is required.
  • Minimum 5 years analytics and data visualization is required.
  • Minimum 3 years financial services is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years cloud based data platforms is required.
  • Minimum 2 years modern programming language is required
