Position Summary:

The Accounting intern will support the Finance team through hands on involvement in accounting operations, process improvement initiatives, and internal control activities. This role is designed for a highly motivated and analytical student interested in gaining practical experience in a dynamic accounting environment.

The intern will work with the accounting team and team leadership to evaluate existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and support projects that strengthen operational efficiency. This internship offers meaningful exposure to accounting practices, financial processes, and cross functional collaboration within the organization.

Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the accounting team with day-to-day operational accounting tasks and financial documentation.
  • Analyse current accounting workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Support documentation and standardization of accounting procedures.
  • Assist with reconciliation and validation of financial records where needed.
  • Collaborate with team leaders and cross-functional departments (contracts, purchasing, shipping, etc.) to better understand transaction flows.
  • Support internal control initiatives such as segregation of duty review
  • Prepare summaries, documentation, and recommendations for process improvements.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Interest in process improvement, internal controls, and operational accounting a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with accounting systems not required but is a plus.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently on assigned projects.

  • Pay Range: $18.42/hr to $30.7/hr
