DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will perform semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and custodial tasks to ensure the upkeep of headquarters property and buildings. Interior responsibilities will include structural repairs such as painting, staining, and spackling, as well as fixing flooring, opening blocked drains, and repairing leaky faucets. Technical duties will extend to performing minor electrical wiring, replacing light fixtures, and maintaining doors, locks, furniture, and window screens. Exterior duties will involve groundskeeping, including lawn mowing, trimming, weeding, and seasonal snow removal through plowing, shoveling, and salting walkways. Additionally, the role includes custodial work such as cleaning restrooms, windows, and furniture, along with stripping, waxing, and washing floors to maintain a professional environment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:
  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirement:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
