We are seeking a Production Manager who is analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about improving production processes. Job Summary

The Production Manager oversees the day-to-day production operations of the alternate formats and automated fulfilment environment. This role ensures that production workflows, equipment, and operational processes run efficiently to meet production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
The Production Manager focuses on improving production performance, maintaining equipment reliability, and supporting an organized and efficient production environment. Working closely with production staff, technical teams, and operational leadership, this role helps identify opportunities to improve processes, resolve operational challenges, and support the successful delivery of accessible alternate format materials.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Production Operations


  • Oversee daily production activities, including automated document processing, printing, finishing, packaging, and distribution preparation.

  • Monitor production schedules and workflow performance to ensure production targets and service levels are met.

  • Coordinate operations, technical teams, and customer service to prioritize workloads and resolve production issues.


Process Improvement


  • Identify opportunities to improve production workflows, automation efficiency, and overall operational productivity.

  • Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs).


Equipment & Automation


  • Monitor the performance and reliability of production equipment and automated systems.

  • Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and address equipment downtime in collaboration with technical staff and vendors.

  • Support the evaluation and implementation of new equipment or technology.


Team Leadership


  • Supervise production staff and ensure appropriate staffing levels to support production demands.

  • Provide training, guidance, and support to maintain quality and productivity standards.

  • Foster a collaborative and team-focused production environment.


Quality & Safety


  • Ensure production output meets internal quality standards and customer requirements.

  • Maintain compliance with workplace safety procedures and operational policies.



Qualifications, Skills, Working Environment


Qualifications

Education

  • College degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
Experience


  • 8+ years of experience in production, manufacturing, or high-volume fulfilment operations.

  • Experience working with automated production environments or equipment-driven workflows.

  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.


Skills


  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to identify process improvements and support operational efficiency.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.


Qualifications


  • On-site role within a production and fulfilment environment.

  • Regular presence on the production floor is required.

  • Schedule flexibility may be required during peak production periods.
