nVent is growing, and we are hiring a Senior Accountant for our Chattanooga, TN site. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the month-end close process, preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts across a multi-site organization. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Compile and prepare journal entries to support month-end and journal entry close processes for several sites.

  • Prepare month-end account reconciliations, including cash reconciliations, researching and resolving variances with accuracy and timeliness.

  • Maintain fixed asset records and support related journal entries, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposal accounting in accordance with GAAP.

  • Manage intercompany transactions and billing, ensuring accurate reconciliation across entities and resolving discrepancies in coordination with business partners.

  • Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, researching variances and providing clear explanations to finance leadership and collaborators.

  • Analyze monthly financial reports (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow) for accuracy and completeness, supporting consolidated reporting across multiple sites.

  • Maintain and update SOX documentation and coordinate support for internal and external audit activities, ensuring all required controls and documentation are complete.

  • Prepare ad hoc analyses and reports to assist management in decision-making, and provide general accounting support across sites as needed.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; minimum 3 years of accounting experience required.

  • Strong GAAP knowledge required; multi-location or manufacturing environment experience is strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and consolidating financial software such as OneStream is helpful.

  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset and desire to improve processes and internal controls.

  • Able to communicate effectively and collaborate across departments and all levels of the organization.

  • This role may require occasional travel of less than 10% to support multi-site operations.
