Overview

This is an onsite position and will require you to come onsite to our office in Las Vegas, NV

Highly effective, energetic, and organized Senior Buyer to support CPI Card Group. This position is highly interactive and will report to the Director of Procurement.



Responsibilities

    Works with Suppliers of all commodity types to support CPI Card Group.
  • Works with Customer Service and Sales on all customer quotations as required.
  • Works with Suppliers to obtain competitive quotations for all commodity types.
  • Works with Suppliers to obtain the best possible solution for all purchases including payment terms, cost savings, inventory management, and blanket purchase orders.
  • Reviews demand for new projects from jobs, MRP, and shortage reports to ensure there are no gaps in purchased requirements to support the Production Schedule.
  • Prepares purchase orders by verifying demand, inventory on hand, specifications, quotations, lead-times, and price for all requirements.
  • Reconciles all purchase order issues quickly with Finance.
  • Works with Transportation Suppliers to quote Supplier shipments and ensure shipments are shipped and received on-time.
  • Attends the production meeting and adds valuable input to support questions and challenges.
  • Works directly with Suppliers to monitor and expedite open purchase orders and shipments in-transit.
  • Hosts Supplier meetings and takes detailed meeting minutes.
  • Works with Engineering, Customer Service, Production, Scheduling and Warehousing to ensure all purchase orders are scheduled and delivered on-time for all commodity types and services.
  • Escalates all Supplier issues and challenges with open Purchase Orders.
  • Manages inventory levels to ensure that they are correct at all times working closely with the Warehouse and Manufacturing.
  • Works with Engineering and Master Data on all job and item issues.
  • Monitors the ERP systems to ensure Purchase Orders are accurate.
  • Monitors the ERP system to ensure Supplier Information is accurate.
  • Manages a formal task list to ensure that all open issues and action items are achieved on-time.
  • Works on many teams to support the development and success of the CPI Card Group Policies, Procedures, Supplier Management Projects, and KPI.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business or Technical Field required.
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Senior Buyer or Purchasing Agent.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • ISM or APICS Certifications highly desired (C.P.M., CPSM, CPIM, CSCP)

Requirements:

  • Formal experience working as a Purchasing Agent or Senior Buyer.
  • Formal experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Formal experience working with a wide variety of direct and indirect Suppliers.
  • Formal experience working on an ERP system.
  • Strong demonstrated Microsoft Excel experience.
  • Strong demonstrated Microsoft Office experience.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Adaptability - open to and actively solicit new ideas and opinions.
  • Communication - demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional work groups including Suppliers, Customers and team mates, both verbally and in writing. Excellent listening skills.
