Job Description Summary: The Scientific Engagement Specialist plays a key role in supporting Medical Affairs, Patient Engagement, and crossfunctional teams through the development of highquality scientific materials, patientfriendly content, and strategic initiatives across rare disease programs. This role contributes to medical training, scientific communications, and communityfacing resources-ensuring complex data is translated into clear, meaningful information tailored for healthcare professionals, payers, patients, and advocacy groups.
The Scientific Engagement Liaison supports adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate. Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of the Medical Affairs clinical presentations for HCPs, Payers, etc. and other scientific writing initiatives as needed
  • Attend internal scientific & business meetings and contribute through brainstorming and discussions
  • Creation of plain language summaries for publications across disease states
  • Contribute to PTC Marketing Initiatives (insights, ACMG patient friendly PKU guidelines, Marketing communications, etc.)
  • Build out rare disease and/or disease specific related resources for patients/families and assess any gaps or opportunities to connect with the community
  • Contribute to patient/community educational program planning and execution with patient engagement liaison teams
  • Work closely with patient engagement teams on internal support and operations initiatives in support of PTC patient/family/community programs, including site reviews, contracting and internal tracking
  • Review and provide input on local/regional/global brand plans regarding strategic & operational elements for launch readiness
  • Develop & contribute to patient facing materials for rare disease communications (including social media & community outreach)
  • Work across the US Functions (Medical, Patient Engagement, Operations, etc.) with Project Leads on key initiatives, as identified

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in scientific discipline (including genetics) or a related field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or similar environment

  • Deep understanding of the rare disease market
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with strong working knowledge of excel, including writing Macro's and data manipulation
  • Superb attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Travel requirements: Up to 20%

Expected Base Salary Range:

$84,700 - $107,000. The base salary offered will be contingent on assessment of candidate education level, background, and experience relative to the requirements of the position they are being considered for, as well as review of internal equity.

In addition to base salary, PTC employees are also eligible for short- and long-term incentives.All eligible employees may also enroll in PTC's medical, dental, vision, and retirement savings plans.
