03/01/2026 - 03/31/2026 Application Window Open date: March 16, 2026 Next review date: Friday, Apr 24, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Mar 15, 2027 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Preuss School UC San Diego is seeking qualified English Language Development (ELD) teachers to join our applicant pool for anticipated openings in the 2026/2027 school year. The Preuss School at UC San Diego is a charter middle and high school dedicated to providing a rigorous college prep education for low-income scholars who will become the first in their families to graduate from college. As a department within UC San Diego Academic Affairs, The Preuss School also serves as a model school to study and develop the best practices in preparation of scholars of diverse and under represented backgrounds to access higher education. Under the supervision of the Principal, The Preuss School the English Language Development (ELD) teacher will develop and maintain a positive, achievement-oriented, and collaborative of high expectations that motivates and inspire scholars to learn at college-preparatory levels. Effectively execute assigned curriculum, tied to specific grade level and content standards, in teams and individually to prepare daily lesson plans, instructional materials, and exit tickets aligned to rigorous college-ready standards. Use exit tickets, unit tests, interim exams, and other assessment data to determine differentiated re-teaching needed to advance all scholars towards demonstrating mastery. Collaborate with peers to ensure that all scholars receive the appropriate support. Promote an environment which respects and values students' ideas and ways of thinking. Establish, maintain and support standards of personal conduct and discipline in accordance with the current discipline for an orderly, productive learning environment. Use a variety of assessments to monitor and evaluate the learning progress of each student and to make instructional decisions. Qualifications Basic qualifications
