Job Description




As a Security Officer - Access Control Driver in Port Arthur, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location where you will manage access control, verify credentials, issue badges, and monitor entry points to help support smooth operations. You will stay visible, communicate clearly with employees and visitors, and document security-related activity with professionalism and integrity. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license in line with AU Driver Policy Requirements.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, issuing and collecting badges and/or credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and directing guests to the proper check-in process.
  • Screen incoming deliveries and contractor arrivals by confirming authorization, reviewing shipping and/or work documentation, and coordinating entry with site contacts as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting events, and supporting on-site response actions per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including entrances, staging areas, and perimeter routes as directed. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
