About Vantage Data Centers

Vantage Data Centers powers, cools, protects and connects the technology of the world's well-known hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprises. Developing and operating across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, Vantage has evolved data center design in innovative ways to deliver dramatic gains in reliability, efficiency and sustainability in flexible environments that can scale as quickly as the market demands.

Design Integration Group

The Design Integration Group (DIG) at Vantage is responsible for the stewardship and execution of the data center design through the project lifecycle, from early development through construction and handover to operations, and includes the Design Management, Design Engineering and Regional Product teams. Collaborating closely with the Regional Product, Design Engineering, New Site Development, Construction and Operations teams, Design Management functions as the interconnective hub that owns the project design and its reporting and communication, bridging strategy and execution to ensure design excellence, predictability, and scalability.

Position Overview

The Project Manager - Design Engineering (Critical Infrastructure) plays a key role in advancing the quality, consistency, and resilience of critical infrastructure designs across the data center portfolio. This position partners closely with internal design engineers, external engineering consultants, and crossfunctional stakeholders to ensure design solutions are aligned, integrated, and ready for successful execution.

The role supports the evolution of Day 1 designs by facilitating structured design alignment, validating system architectures, and strengthening consistency across disciplines, vendors, and delivery phases. Through proactive design reviews, coordination efforts, and fieldinformed insights, the Project Manager helps translate engineering intent into constructible, scalable, and operationally sound outcomes.

Operating as a deliveryfocused project manager with strong technical fluency, this role supports the Design Integration Group's (DIG) mission to deliver resilient, repeatable, and highperforming data center infrastructure.

  • Coordinate and align internal design engineering efforts across electrical, mechanical, and CSA disciplines.

  • Develop and maintain integrated design alignment plans, schedules, and tracking tools that support infrastructure quality and consistency.

  • Facilitate structured design review sessions focused on:

    • Resilient architecture and redundancy strategies (N, N+1, 2N)

    • System interactions and interfaces

    • Design clarity, consistency, and constructability

Critical Infrastructure Design Alignment
  • Lead initiatives that promote alignment between design intent, system architecture, and execution readiness.

  • Support validation of redundancy strategies and system configurations across design stages.

  • Coordinate targeted field observations and site walkdowns, as appropriate, to inform design refinement and implementation confidence.

  • Ensure outcomes are technically robust, clearly documented, and effectively communicated through closure.

External Consultant & Vendor Coordination
  • Partner with external design consultants, specialty engineers, and vendors to support design enhancements, refinements, and supplemental engineering evaluations.

  • Ensure consultant deliverables align with DIG standards, resiliency philosophy, and operational expectations.

  • Collaborate with vendors to reconcile equipment design assumptions with internal engineering guidelines.

Design Integration & Delivery Support
  • Collaborate with Design Management to incorporate validated insights into Day 1 design packages and IFC documentation.

  • Support Construction and Operations teams by clarifying design intent and providing timely guidance related to integrated design solutions.

  • Promote consistent application of approved design outcomes throughout design and construction phases.

Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing
  • Capture insights from design reviews and field observations to inform design standards, reference details, and repeatable solutions.

  • Partner with DIG leadership to identify opportunities for systemic enhancement and prioritize updates to standardized design approaches.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the design engineering organization.
