Overview

Primary responsibilities may include assistance with drafting and providing design support for projects involving the design of green stormwater infrastructure within urban streets, urban trails, streets, parks, and stormwater infrastructure in the City of Philadelphia and surrounding areas. The selected candidate may also be asked to assist with site inspections, cost estimating, project coordination with other team members, and assisting in compiling reports and design drawing plan sets.



Responsibilities

Specific tasks include:

    Geometric layout of transportation and site projects
  • Site grading
  • Setting profiles and cross sections
  • Developing specifications
  • Stormwater calculations
  • Layout of utilities
  • Drafting and design of green infrastructure facilities
  • Completing stormwater calculations and modeling
  • Performing site grading
  • Setting profiles and cross sections
  • Developing specifications


Qualifications

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Enthusiasm and willingness to work collaboratively with other design team members! -Strong coursework background in engineering principals.
  • AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with site development, hydraulics/hydrology, Green Stormwater Infrastructure and/or Erosion & Sediment Control Plans are also plus, but not required.
  • Technical writing skills are also desired.
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to work collaboratively with other design team members!
  • AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Prior transportation and/or site grading design experience is a plus.
  • Experience with hydraulics/hydrology, Green Stormwater Infrastructure and/or Erosion & Sediment Control Plans are also plus, but not required.
