Job Description

The Category Procurement Buyer for Professional Services & HR, reporting to the Category Manager, Professional Services, will champion strategic sourcing activities for HR and professional services across the North America sites. This position supports ~$40 million in annual spend and interacts with stakeholders across key functions such as HR, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Quality, R&D and EHS.

This role will be essential for driving procurement excellence across these categories, and for providing support to other areas within IT/Telecom and/or Travel, as assigned on a project basis by the Category Manager. This position is responsible for the development of category sourcing strategies, as well as being directly responsible for the execution of these strategies, including day-to-day interaction with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure an uninterrupted supply of quality goods and services at optimum cost. The Buyer collaborates and works closely with other functions in the organization, including our Global Corporate Services Procurement team and Category Managers across all Business Groups in the organization.

Additional aspects of the job include:

  • Lead strategic sourcing activities for assigned categories of spend, capturing savings through purchasing volume and negotiating Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) contracts with suppliers in support of company objectives
  • Collaborate and work closely with other parts of the organization to implement TCO improvement opportunities within the category.
  • Support all activities within the procurement function and regularly report on key procurement metrics
  • Build relationships with suppliers so as to position Amcor as a preferred customer, and ensure an uninterrupted supply of quality goods and services at optimum cost
  • Deliver sustainable business value including: supply assurance, cost, quality, service, and innovation to meet business need
  • Collaborate with peers in other Amcor businesses to secure benefits from Amcor's global scale
  • Collaborate with legal, IT, and Risk Management teams on contract execution to mitigate risk for Amcor

Job Dimensions

  • Contract negotiations, market analysis, project management & implementation, subject matter expertise in value creation for assigned categories, cost savings documentation and tracking
  • Travel: 10% - 20%
  • This position negotiates pricing and terms with selected key suppliers; this position does not provide tactical planning or purchase order administrative support.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

  • Bachelor's level degree or equivalent.
  • Master's Degree as an advantage.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience in Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain or related field.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing processes and supplier quality systems.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma process improvement methodologies or similar as an advantage.
  • Expertise / mastery in desktop analytical tools (excel, databases, tableau or equivalent).
  • SAP and/or other ERP systems experience as an advantage.
  • Demonstrated excellent negotiation skills, with focus on identification of the win-win scenarios.
  • Proven problem-solving ability to be given an issue and to work backwards to identify resolutions.
  • Strong action/results orientation with the ability to work with minimal oversight, to be self-motivated and proactive in achieving individual/team objectives.

CompensationThe starting salary for this position is expected to be between $85,600 to $107,000; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $85,600 to $128,400 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor's Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
