Business/Role Specific Description

Deutsche Bank's Structured Credit group is looking for a VP/Director to join the financial engineering team in New York, NY. The candidate must possess creativity and technical expertise within quantitative methods and analytical finance with a specific focus on residential mortgage and real estate modeling. The candidate must have expertise in utilizing quantitative techniques in collateral analysis, securitization, and structural analysis - across multiple asset classes, investor preferences and issuer requirements. The individual must be able to operate independently as well as have the ability to work effectively within a team.

Your Role

  • Perform detailed collateral analysis on all residential mortgage and real estate asset types.
  • Use stratifications and other reporting tools to effectively convey pool characteristics, concentrations, distributions, and risks. Proactively determine missing, incomplete, and inaccurate information.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the team and clients, rating agencies, attorneys, accountants, and others on all matters related to collateral characteristics and analysis.
  • Provide valuations and marks across a wide range of mortgage and real estate assets as well as cash flow modeling and bond structuring in both Excel and Intex for securitizations as well as internal credit analysis.

Skills You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in mathematics, statistics, science, engineering or computer science is strongly preferred.
  • 4+ years' experience in Asset Backed Securities/Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (ABS/RMBS) structuring
  • Extensive prior experience with collateral analysis and cashflow modeling.
  • Familiarity with transaction legal documents review and rating agency methodologies.
  • Excellent Excel skills required, ability to develop customized spreadsheet applications and VBA coding experience a strong plus.
  • Strong proficiency with Intex Calc as well as Dealmaker
  • Strong analytical and fixed income math skills required.
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills are required.
  • Knowledge Bloomberg, Corelogic, Trepp and other market data sources a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, work ethic, and temperament, especially in time-critical and pressure situations.
  • Ability to work on various ad hoc projects related to the capital markets function with limited guidance.
  • Ability to work in a complex environment as a significant idea contributor and team player in situations involving multiple geographic and financial markets.

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is 180,000 - 250,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
