Job Highlights
- Provide daily support to troubleshoot and maintain plant processing equipment as well as provide analysis and solutions to improve reliability.
- Perform mechanical equipment NDT, laser alignment, vibration and data analysis, inspections, and positive materials of construction identification.
- Provide input and train employees on procedures for reliability and mechanical integrity for both mechanical equipment as well as instrumentation.
- Perform root cause failure analysis in order to improve equipment reliability.
- Provide support on reliability studies for equipment and process improvements.
- Monitor installation or modifications to the facility and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Develop and maintain inspection routes.
- Ability to creatively research new technologies and methods to perform maintenance.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned
- Use many different hand and diagnostic tools in testing and repairing equipment
- Work independently or as part of a team
- Participate in training of employees on reliability based practices.
Experience / Skills
- Level I Vibration Analysis Certification
- Familiarity with industry standards such as API and ASME preferred.
- Must have functional knowledge of computer use (i.e. Windows, Word, Excel, CMMS, etc.)
- Must have a good mechanical and instrumentation aptitude relative to the work environment with the desire to excel.
- Troubleshooting: Reliability Technician must be able to find the root cause of issues and think logically about solutions.
- Critical Thinking: When diagnosing problems, a Reliability Technician must think critically in their process of repairing the issue.
- A minimum of five years' of relevant experience in an industrial setting. Chemical industrial experience preferred.
- Knowledge of equipment used in chemical manufacturing and its proper application.
- Knowledge of rotating equipment used in specialty chemical manufacturing including, but not limited to, pumps, mixers, compressors, and fans.
- Ability to analyze technical data and problems, formulate appropriate recommendations and work independently. Initiative and strong sense of professional responsibility are considered essential.
- Strong verbal skills required in addition to the ability to facilitate meetings.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as API and ASME preferred.
- Ability to present training materials in class room setting preferred.
- High regard for safety and the environment;
- Must complete pre-employment physical to ensure the worker can handle physical requirements of the positionincluding, but not limited to: lifting up to 55 pounds, climbing ladders, bending, stooping, twisting, operating equipment and working outside in conditions that are subject to the elements.
