JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Penn State Altoona and Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 (IU8) are excited to collaborate to support the Sense-ational Endeavors Summer Camp, which is a program designed to provide engaging, inclusive learning experiences for children with autism. The successful candidates will be part of a two-week summer program featuring structured, themed learning activities that provide a variety of sensory experiences, including physical movement, arts and music, and social skills development, while aligning with the camp's mission to create meaningful summer learning experiences for students and families. We are seeking to hire one (1) teacher's assistant to assist with a two-week camp held at Penn State Altoona (3000 Ivyside Park, Altoona, PA 16601). Camp Dates:
Daily Schedule:
This position is open to accredited teachers. Teachers and teacher assistants must have EpiPen certification. Those who do not currently hold this certification will receive assistance from Penn State Altoona Youth Outreach staff in obtaining it. The pay rate for this position is $20.00/hour. BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
