Overview & Position Summary

This role provides on-site and remote technical support to employees across construction sites, model homes, sales offices, and corporate locations. The position ensures users have reliable access to devices, systems, and networks essential for daily homebuilding operations. Working under moderate supervision, the role resolves routine to moderately complex technical issues while maintaining high service quality. It also supports technology deployments, equipment maintenance, and user education to keep field and office operations running smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, mobile device, and connectivity issues across field and office environments.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, tablets, and jobsite technology equipment.
  • Provide on-site support at construction sites, sales centers, and field locations to ensure operational readiness of technology resources.
  • Escalate issues appropriately while maintaining ownership and communication until resolution.
  • Assist with technology rollouts, equipment upgrades, and system deployment activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of service requests, asset details, and field support activities.
  • Guide and support other technicians by sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with users to understand issues, provide updates, and ensure positive support experiences.
  • Follow established procedures while using sound judgment to interpret policies when addressing non-routine problems.

Education & Experience

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical coursework beneficial.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in technical support, desktop support, or field technology roles.

Preferred:

  • 3-5 years of experience supporting multi-site or field-based technology environments.
  • Experience with hardware, mobile devices, and connectivity tools common in construction and field operations.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and field connectivity issues.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
  • Customer service mindset with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced field environments.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and mobile connectivity.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures while using judgment when resolving routine issues.
  • Familiarity with technology needs specific to construction, sales, or field operations.
  • Ability to document work clearly and accurately.
  • Initiative and willingness to mentor entry-level technicians.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a mix of environments including general office settings, construction sites, and model homes. Field visits may involve exposure to varying weather, noise, and uneven terrain. Local travel between job sites and office locations is routinely required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment up to 40 pounds.
  • Frequent walking, standing, and navigating construction sites.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, or reach when installing equipment.
  • Visual acuity required for working with devices and small components.
  • Ability to safely access and navigate active construction environments.
