Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is seeking a motivated and detailoriented Project Management Intern with a strong interest in project coordination, business operations, and organizational effectiveness. This intern will support project managers, crossfunctional teams, and senior leaders in the planning, execution, and governance of business and technology-driven initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to gain handson experience in a professional project management environment. Responsibilities:
  • Assist project managers in planning, organizing, and tracking project activities and deliverables.
  • Support project execution by coordinating meetings, documenting action items, and maintaining project schedules.
  • Help prepare project status updates, dashboards, and reporting materials for leadership.
  • Lead the facilitation and execution of Detailed Business Case (DBC) creation, including coordinating stakeholders, gathering required inputs, organizing documentation, and ensuring timely completion of business case components.
  • Coordinate deployment or implementation activities by logging, tracking, and communicating tasks.
  • Review and document existing project workflows or processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and monitoring nonproduction projectrelated issues and escalating as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely communication and smooth project operations.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma Required
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Understanding of project management concepts or methodologies (e.g., SDLC, Agile).
  • Familiarity with project planning, workflow tools, or basic documentation practices.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Motivation and willingness to learn in a fastpaced environment.

  • Exposure to an enterprise PMO and large-scale project environment.
  • Handson experience supporting active projects, meetings, and team workflows.
  • Experience contributing to process improvements and project documentation.
  • Understanding how to manage project artifacts and cross-team communication.

Location: 3 Penn Plaza Newark NJ - Hybrid Work Schedule

Schedule: 8am-5pm (9 hour work day with lunch)

Duration: 11 week Summer Internship Program (June 1, 2026 - August 13, 2026)
