Staff Chaplain Spiritual Care Full Time 87678BR Job Summary Under general supervision, the staff chaplain provides direct spiritual care, crisis and emotional support to patients, their families, interdisciplinary team members, and allied health students, with a focus on cardiovascular units including heart and lung transplant patients. The chaplain clinically mentors ACPE chaplain learners in our large program, especially in Adult ICU care. Staff chaplains cover the department's on-call through Voalte/pager during day shifts when learners are in program once a week, engage every three-week swing shift, and once a year overnight or weekend on-call shift. As experienced spiritual care specialists, staff chaplains offer education and foster conversations and clarifications regarding the cultural, ethical, and religious needs of patients that can affect patient care, family interactions, and interdisciplinary team and allied health student performance/resiliency. Staff Chaplains assist in developing and maintaining positive community relations, and coordination of volunteer community spiritual leaders and UCSF contracted additional spiritual resources to meet specific patient needs via telehealth or in-person visits. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The hourly rate of pay $30.51-$65.18 and is subject to change based on union requirements. Required Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications n/a License/Certification Licenses (required): Endorsement, ordination, commissioning, or official recognition by one's affiliation group to function as a professional chaplain. Maintains good standing in the affiliation group.
