Job Description

Job Summary:


Mercury Systems Mixed Signal business unit is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to develop and execute comprehensive test strategies for sophisticated mission-critical embedded technology designed to withstand the most rugged environments. In this role, you will work closely with our world-class electrical engineering team to ensure cutting-edge modules meet the highest quality standards for aerospace and defense applications. You will be responsible for the complete test lifecycle from Design Verification Testing (DVT) through Manufacturing Test development and production handoff.

This role will play a key part in validating and qualifying data storage and transfer systems for the Data Systems Product Line, ensuring our warfighters and allies have reliable, mission-critical technology.



Job Responsibilities:



  • Organize, develop, and execute Design Verification Test (DVT) plans and procedures for complex circuits, modules, and systems
  • Design and implement Manufacturing Test solutions to support production scalability
  • Lead product handoff activities from engineering to production, including test documentation and knowledge transfer
  • Develop comprehensive test plans based on system electrical requirements and design specifications
  • Create detailed test procedures and verification reports for rugged electronics and computer systems
  • Execute electrical compliance testing to military and aerospace electrical standards (MIL-STD-461G, etc.)
  • Support board bring-up, debug, and functional verification activities in collaboration with design engineers
  • Perform product requirement testing and validation against customer and market specifications
  • Develop and maintain automated test systems and fixtures
  • Interface with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and customers to resolve technical test issues
  • Document test results, failure analysis, and corrective actions
  • Support sustaining engineering activities for returned products


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Typically requires 6+ years of related experience.
  • Experience developing test plans, procedures, and verification reports for hardware/electrical products.
  • Hands-on lab experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, DMMs, etc.).
  • Experience with functional and parametric testing of PCB assemblies.
  • Knowledge of electrical design principles including power, digital, and analog circuits.
  • Strong debug and troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software.
  • Experience with test documentation and reporting.
  • This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance in the future. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
  • Minimal travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience testing ruggedized military and space-grade electronics
  • An active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) development and LabVIEW, Python, or similar
  • Knowledge of Design for Test (DFT) principles and Manufacturing Test optimization
  • Familiarity with military and aerospace test standards (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461G, DO-160, etc.)
  • Experience with 3U/6U VPX systems (VITA46, VITA65)
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC testing and compliance
  • Experience testing Radiation Tolerant components and systems
  • Knowledge of reliability testing, HALT/HASS, and environmental stress screening
  • Familiarity with statistical process control and test data analysis
  • Experience with production test handoff and manufacturing support
  • Understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and high-speed digital testing

Pay Grade Range
Fulltime Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position
* $87,100.00 - $182,900.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees
* $97,600.00 - $204,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA
* $102,800.00 - $215,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ
