Job Description:

The Senior Process Development Engineer is responsible for owning and improving multiple processes and tools within the Probe head product line. This includes solder paste dispensing, component placement tools, cleaning tools, bake/reflow ovens, and solder sphere placement processes. The role focuses on sustaining and enhancing existing processes, developing new automated repair tools, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance, reduce costs, and increase yield.

This position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional efforts with equipment and material vendors to meet manufacturing and technology roadmap requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as process/tool owner for key operations such as solder paste dispensing, component placement, cleaning, bake/reflow, and solder sphere placement.

  • Sustain and improve existing processes to ensure predictable and capable manufacturing performance.

  • Design and execute engineering experiments to resolve process excursions and drive performance improvements.

  • Develop and qualify new automated spring repair tools and processes.

  • Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and continuous improvement methodologies to maintain process capability at the lowest operating cost.

  • Recommend strategies to reduce manufacturing costs, improve cycle time, and increase yield.

  • Engage and lead equipment vendors to improve tool performance and meet utilization and uptime targets.

  • Collaborate with material vendors to establish procurement specifications and incoming quality assurance metrics for key materials.

  • Drive planning and facilities requirements for equipment procurement, installation, and qualification.

  • Work closely with peers to leverage existing processes or develop new ones to support new products and technology roadmaps.

Pay Range:

$90,500.00 - $118,755.00

Pay Range Explained:

This role in Livermore, California pays between $90,500.00 and $118,755.00 per year, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations. We offer a full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, a 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), and paid time off. You'll also be eligible for quarterly profit-sharing bonuses and flexible spending or savings accounts.
