First American will always strive to be a great place to work, for all. What We DoComplete preliminary and final loan balance loss analysis reconciliation at loan liquidation. Ensure all REO and claim funds received are reconciled to the outstanding balances on the loan per investor guidelines.

Essential Functions

  • Complete balance reconciliation between the outstanding balances and REO/claim funds received.
  • Complete all loss analysis within the required SLA
  • Refer files for supplemental claims as required
  • Act as a team resource and subject matter expert
  • Respond to client questions pertaining to loss analysis activity as required
  • Complete default step codes and tasking

Job Complexities & Impact

  • Follow departmental and business policies with strict adherence
  • Tasks are more complex in nature and involve evaluation and judgment

Supervision Received or Extended

  • No formal supervisory responsibility but is a resource to less experienced team members
  • Works under general supervision applying well established techniques, procedures or specific standards
  • Prioritize allocated work to ensure tasks are completed within the required SLA

Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used

  • Loss analysis or corporate advance experience
  • Understanding of corporate advances, escrow, principal and interest transactions
  • Ability to understand and execute policy and procedures
  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to adhere to strict guidelines and procedures
  • Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of investor default guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage liquidation processes
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • GSE and Government experience a must
  • MSP and LoanSphere experience a must
  • Working knowledge of computer software programs to include Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel, Internet and Microsoft Outlook experience preferred

Typical Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • College preferred but not required
  • Equivalent experience

Typical Range of Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of direct Loss Analysis experience
  • 10+ years of corporate advance experience
  • 10+ years in a mortgage default environment
