QA Label Specialist (Columbia, MD)

The QA Document Control Specialist is primarily responsible for producing product labels to support manufacturing operations. This position is also responsible for generation and maintenance of label templates used to print product labels and for document change control for new and revision of product labels. This position is also responsible for document control functions such as batch record printing and document archival. This position is critical in ensuring regulatory compliance.

What will you be doing?

This role will generate and inspect complex product labelling for all products in current production, including the ability to identify minute defects on printed labels.

This role will generate printing and inspection of paperwork according to established procedures and good documentation practices.

This role will help to coordinate the printing schedule based on production plan to ensure manufacturing operations are not halted through lack of product labels.

This role will work within the electronic document control system to generate new or revise current specifications and procedures when needed.

This role will assist with assign product lot numbers and issue and inspect batch records associated with each manufacturing process.

This role will scan, file, and archive of quality records as needed.

What will you need to be successful?

  • High School Diploma with 2+ years of experience required

  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferably in a biotechnology related field

  • The candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in a regulated biotechnology environment (GMP, GTP).

    The candidate should have 1+ years of experience performing document control functions or printing and inspecting large quantities of labels.

    The candidate should have 1+ years of experience in a detail-oriented inspection role of any kind (visual detail inspection).

  • This role requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to efficiently use Word and Excel.

  • This role must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have a collaborative mindset

  • This role must be able to focus to perform visual inspection for extended periods of time.

  • Physical Demands: office area where the candidate must be able to sit for long periods of time and be able to lift 25 - 40lbs.

"The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $47,500 - $71,250 USD annually.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
