Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Coordinator.Our team examines and delivers parenting interventions to improve child development outcomes in at-risk populations at pediatric clinics across in New York City (in particular, PlayReadVIP; PI: Alan Mendelsohn, MD). The candidate will be responsible for multiple project tasks, and will work with a multidisciplinary team of pediatricians, psychologists, and other child development professionals.
Job Responsibilities: Specific tasks may include: PlayReadVIP Delivery:
- Delivery of standardized program (PlayReadVIP) to parents of infants and young children, which involves tipsabout reading, playing, and interacting with children, videotaping parents and children playing together, providinggeneral positive reinforcement about the video (including occasional delivery of program)
- Maintaining records of family participation in the program as needed, including building rapport with families,including coordinating with parents and tracking/scheduling upcoming program visits.
PlayReadVIP Training and Supervision:
- Training and supervising PlayReadVIP coaches and trainers.
- Developing and maintaining training materials and training/supervision structure, including manuals, instructionguides, fidelity rubrics, and certification/maintenance of fidelity process.
- Training and supervising staff members who administer PlayReadVIP, utilizing a structured certification process:
- Meeting regularly with staff members.
- Conducting regular observations of PlayReadVIP implementation, providing guidance and feedback aboutquality and fidelity of administration of intervention.
- Providing staff members with continued oversight and guidance, and communicating with other relevantstakeholder (medical champion, on site supervisors, implementation team) regarding coach progress.
- Leading PlayReadVIP training presentations and outreach presentations.
- Outlines agenda, plans and prepares presentations, and composes a variety of memos and letters.
- Reviews,edits, obtain appropriate approvals. Responds to routine correspondences and refers non routine items to theappropriate party.
PlayReadVIP Programmatic Development:
- Regularly updating and maintaining PlayReadVIP programmatic materials (guides, scripts, toys, materials).
- Developing adaptations of PlayReadVIP for additional populations, settings, or other needs (including integrationswith other programs).
- Evaluating and updating PlayReadVIP materials and curriculum to ensure inclusivity and sensitivity for use acrossdiverse populations of participants.
- Engaging in piloting and program evaluation as needed with participants.
- Scheduling & Coordinating - Organizes and coordinates schedules, activities and special events.
- Coordinates conference preparation activities (checking and coordinating the logistics and technical support, making food and beverage arrangements, etc) and other related activities. May assist in special events planning.
- Participates in special Projects and performs other duties as required.
- Assistance with other operational aspects of the program and evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Ability to Project/Program manage and to multi task while paying attention to details. Preferred Qualifications: Project/Program management experience preferred. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
