*About the Opportunity* Our client is seeking a Systems Engineer to support enterprisewide monitoring across infrastructure, applications, databases, and missioncritical healthcare systems. This role is key to ensuring system reliability, performance, and high availability for core business services.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys building monitoring strategies, improving visibility, and working across multiple technical teams to keep complex environments running smoothly. *Key Responsibilities* * Design, implement, and support monitoring solutions for infrastructure, applications, databases, network components, and critical systems. * Develop strategies and standards to ensure consistent, accurate monitoring throughout the organization. * Ensure effective metric collection, alerting, reporting, and trend analysis. * Build and maintain dashboards that provide crossteam visibility. * Troubleshoot platform issues, apply patches/upgrades, and work with vendors as needed. * Support new deployments by ensuring appropriate monitoring requirements are included. * Contribute to scripting or automation that supports selfhealing and proactive detection. * Provide reporting on system health, performance trends, alerts, and operational metrics. * Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and incident response teams. * Maintain clear documentation and communicate technical concepts effectively to various audiences. * Enhance operational controls, participate in process development, and support organizational standards for securing information assets. *Essential Functions* * Help establish and improve controls for key operational processes. * Balance daily operational work with ongoing project initiatives. * Deliver clear written and verbal communication and drive impactful outcomes. * Assist in creating and implementing procedures and best practices. * Support efforts to optimize operational standards around security and observability. *General Qualifications (Broad & Flexible)* * Experience working within IT operations, systems engineering, infrastructure monitoring, or related technical environments. * Familiarity with monitoring tools or observability platforms (any modern toolset acceptable). * Ability to analyze system data, identify trends, and troubleshoot performance issues. * Comfort working across teams, collaborating with technical and nontechnical partners. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. * Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, and manage competing priorities. * Scripting or automation exposure is helpful but not required. * Experience supporting enterprise or missioncritical systems is a plus. * Certifications are welcome but not mandatory. *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of SIOUX FALLS, SD. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
