Job Summary:
The role of the Director, Finance provides financial oversight, leadership and support to the market/corporate and ensures the department proactively collaborates with and provides support for analyses being conducted by areas outside the Finance Department.
Essential Functions:
- Provide timely, accurate comprehensive and transparent financial reporting including, but not limited to, operating statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and key business reports as required in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate the annual budget and monthly/quarterly forecasting process for applicable market.
- Support the strategic planning process by providing long term financial projections reflecting the assumptions outlined in the strategic plan.
- Provides insight into the risk sensitivity associated with the current and future business drivers.
- Oversee and drive the allocation process, ensuring efficient and effective methods, aligning allocation strategies with organizational goals and fostering collaboration across departments.
- Lead team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in our HCQI process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Actively participate in cross-functional discussions and decision-making processes to identify, recommend, and implement administrative efficiencies. Collaborate with market leaders and relevant teams to streamline operations, optimize resource allocation, and drive initiatives that enhance overall market performance.
- Coordinate and support independent financial accounting audits and other regulatory financial related audits.
- Responsible for ensuring all departmental policies and procedures are in compliance with Model Audit Rule requirements for Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting.
- Perform ad hoc and trending analysis - both proactively and as requested.
- Responsible for staffing decisions and management of departmental staff and expense budget.
- Develop, implement and modify processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Perform any other job related duties as requested.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent graduate degree preferred
- Equivalent years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of required education
- Ten (10) years of experience in accounting/finance required
- Five (5) years of leadership experience required
- Managed Care or healthcare experience preferred

- Familiar with variety of financial analysis concepts, practices and procedures
- Relies on extensive experienced and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Familiar with variety of accounting concepts, practices and procedures
- Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Statutory Accounting Principles (STAT)
- Intermediate proficiency level with Microsoft Office
- Ability to interact with all levels of management, as wells as external audit management
- Ability to lead and direct the work of others including the development, motivation and rewarding of staff
- Knowledgeable of internal control framework
- Decision making/problem solving skills
- Critical listening and thinking skills analytical skills
- Detail-oriented
Licensure and Certification:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other equivalent certification preferred
Working Conditions:
- General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Travel is not typically required
Compensation Range: $135,600.00 - $237,400.00 CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate's education, training, and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
