Main Purpose of the Position:
The Vehicles Manager is responsible for overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance of the fleet, ensuring optimal vehicle performance and minimal downtime. This role includes developing and implementing maintenance plans, managing a team of technicians and supervisors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and collaborating with the engineering team to achieve operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Preventive and Corrective Maintenance



  • Develop and schedule daily and long-term preventive maintenance plans.
  • Manage resources including technicians, supervisors, and professional staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Implement audit programs to verify work quality and confirm vehicles are released in a state of good repair.
  • Ensure corrective maintenance work orders are closed within 60 calendar days of the initial report.
  • Enforce compliance with the Safety Management Plan and all applicable Alstom Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Work Practices (SWPs).
  • Ensure vehicles meet all safety compliance requirements before returning to service.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by conducting toolbox talks, safety briefings, and hazard assessments.


Compliance and Reporting



  • Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance activities are accurately recorded in MAXIMO to meet contractual and business objectives.
  • Complete performance reviews for supervisory staff.
  • Maintain zero open corrective maintenance work orders older than 60 days in the MAXIMO system.
  • Monitor and report on safety incidents, near misses, and corrective actions in alignment with the Safety Management Plan.
  • Ensure all work practices comply with Alstom SOPs/SWPs and regulatory requirements.


Budget Management



  • Manage expense budgets for preventive and corrective maintenance, overhauls, and overtime.
  • Allocate resources for safety training, compliance initiatives, and equipment upgrades to meet safety standards.
