This accompanied position is located on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.

Essential Functions
  • Assist in leading and managing a team of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHS&E) professionals to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs that ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E standards, and Department of Defense regulations.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and distribution of comprehensive OHS&E documentation, including Safety Manuals, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), incident investigation reports, training records, and regulatory compliance logs.
  • Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and verify adherence to legal and contractual safety standards.
  • Conduct regular, thorough audits and inspections of facilities and work processes to identify hazards and verify program effectiveness.
  • Lead and document detailed incident investigations (injuries, property damage, near-misses), identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and human resources, to integrate OHS&E considerations into daily activities and project planning.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, metrics, contract deliverables and compliance documentation to regulatory bodies, DoD representatives, and internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor team members on best practices in OHS&E leadership, fostering professional development and ensuring program effectiveness in a dynamic, high-stakes environment.
  • Act on behalf of the Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (OHS&E) Program Manager as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Ability to organize and communicate safety information in a clear and concise manner.
  • In-depth knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment methodologies, and incident response protocols.
  • Proficiency in developing and delivering safety training programs tailored to technical and operational teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills for interpreting regulatory requirements and applying them to complex environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams and external regulators.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline.
  • Possess a recognized professional safety certification, such as Certified Safety Professional or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with DoD safety manuals such as DoDI 6055.01 (DoD Safety and Occupational Health Program).
  • Ten (10) or more years' experience related to leading OHS&E teams in high-risk industries, such as defense contracting, aerospace, or mission-critical operations.
  • NFPA 70E Qualified Person certification or demonstrated expertise in electrical safety standards desired.
  • Master's degree in OHS&E or a related field desired.
  • Specialized Training: Advanced training or certifications related to industrial hygiene, hazardous materials management, or specialized DoD safety programs desired.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Garrison Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S.A.G.K.A. driver's license.
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
