The Innovation and Development Division (IDD) drives the innovation strategy for the Hubs and Operations, and contributes to the Group's transformation. It is responsible for imagining, developing and incubating new solutions until they are brought to market, particularly when it comes to offers with a high technological content (including digital and IT).   • Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

  • Length: 10 Week Internship Program

  • Relocation: No Relocation will be provided for this position

As the HSE Intern, you will assist the Health, Safety, and Environment Manager with daily tasks to continuously improve the occupational health, safety, and environmental protection of the company's staff and assets. For the Summer 2026 term, your primary focus will be bridging the gap between traditional safety management and modern data science by leading a comprehensive audit and optimization of our electronic chemical inventory system.

Duties and Responsibilities

The internship will be divided between core HSE support and specialized technical projects.

Core HSE Support:

  • Safety Event Management: Categorize, log, and create presentations for safety events.

  • Training Coordination: Work with trainers to schedule, track, and update local safety training records.

  • Compliance & Auditing: Assist with internal inspections and learn regulatory compliance data collection.

  • Safety Culture: Promote the reporting of good catches and near-misses to enhance employee awareness.

Priority Projects:

  • Chemical Inventory Optimization: Lead the effort to clean, verify, and organize the electronic chemical inventory. You will leverage platform integration capabilities using SQL and JavaScript to ensure data integrity and real-time accessibility.

  • Task Automation: Develop scripts and workflows to automate repetitive HSE administrative tasks across Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Forms).

  • AI Implementation: Assist in the generation and deployment of Google GEMS (custom AI experts) to provide staff with instant access to safety procedures and regulatory guidance.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Environmental or Chemical Engineering.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheet generation and complex formulas.

  • Working knowledge of SQL and JavaScript for data manipulation and system integration.

  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to read, understand, and apply complex written safety procedures in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a laboratory or industrial setting is helpful but not required.

  • Experience with Google Apps Script or similar automation tools

The candidate must have valid unrestricted employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
