Fire Sprinkler Fitter/Service Technician

Our client has a new and exciting opportunity for you to join our organization as a Fire Sprinkler Fitter/Service Technician. In this role, the selected candidate will perform installation, service, and repair tasks on a variety of fire sprinkler systems. This role involves executing simple projects, such as moves, adds, and changes, as well as completing full-floor buildouts. The ideal candidate will provide mentorship and guidance to junior technicians, ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Install and service fire sprinkler systems, including new installations, retrofits, and tenant improvement projects.
• Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other field installers and helpers.
• Read and interpret blueprints to accurately install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.
• Cut, thread, and groove pipes to specifications using tools such as saws and pipe threaders.
• Perform service and repairs on a wide range of fire sprinkler systems.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the installation of fire sprinkler systems.
• Proficient knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action fire sprinkler systems.
• Familiarity with backflow prevention and fire pump systems is a plus.
• Experience with the installation of underground piping is advantageous.
• In-depth understanding of NFPA 13 and 20 code requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret fire system design drawings.
• Competency in using industry-standard tools for pipe fitting, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Capability to train others on the proper use of trade-specific tools.
• Solid knowledge of the fire protection industry.
• Understanding of OSHA safety standards.
