Core Responsibilities:

As a Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officer, you will:

  • Secure access points using advanced security screening technologies
  • Control and monitor entry to restricted areas
  • Operate specialized law enforcement and emergency equipment, including firearms
  • Conduct security patrols and surveillance monitoring
  • Respond to emergencies with immediate law enforcement presence

Qualifications:

  • Age 21 or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean criminal history record (no felony convictions, no court-ordered supervision/probation within 10 years, no pending criminal charges)
  • No domestic violence convictions that prohibit firearm possession
  • Physical capabilities to perform all essential job functions
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background investigation

Physical Requirements:

  • Must demonstrate the strength, stamina, agility, and balance needed to restrain resistant individuals and protect oneself and others from physical assults
  • Requires physical capability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, and occasionally run, crouch, or crawl
  • Lift 25-50 lbs. frequently, occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Required to be capable of carrying firearms and additional law enforcement tools that may be secured on the officer's utility belt
  • May encounter environmental elements, operating machinery, or potentially dangerous situations

Selection Process:

Candidates undergo a comprehensive evaluation including:

  • Fitness-for-duty physical examination
  • Psychological assessment
  • Detailed background investigation
  • Drug screening
  • Must pass the six-week Basic Law Enforcement course at one of our Federal Reserve Banks and complete Field Training after graduation.

Note: Due to variable vacancy rates, qualified candidates may be placed on a waitlist for up to 12 months or longer.

Compensation & Benefits:

Base Salary Range:$64,900 - $70,350 (Location: Salt Lake City)

Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographic and other market data.
