The Neuropsychology & Learning Service (NLS) at the Child Study Center is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, collaborative and driven clinical neuropsychologist to work at our Manhattan office. The position is full-time and reports directly to the Clinical Director for the Neuropsychology & Learning Service. Experience providing comprehensive evaluations and proficiency on the ADOS-2 and ADI-R is required.

The Child Study Center is part of NYU Langone'sDepartment of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, which is one of only two independent child and adolescent psychiatry departments within an academic medical center in the nation.

The NLS offers comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations as well as ongoing educational advocacy, school consultation, and user-friendly reports for children ages 5 through young adulthood. We also provide early childhood neurodevelopmental assessments for toddlers and preschoolers and provide ASD evaluations for youth of all ages. Our team members are active in clinical research and participate annually in presentations and submissions to Neuropsychology and general Psychology conferences. There is also a strong educational and training component to the position. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of our multidisciplinary group practice.Other teaching opportunities include supervision of postdoctoral neuropsychology fellows and neuropsychology externs, and teaching of psychiatry fellows. The individual in this position will also have opportunity to collaborate with neuropsychologists within the Department of Epilepsy, Diabetes, and Oncology at NYU Langone.

Work Schedule

The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry supports a hybrid work arrangement. This position includes dedicated onsite space at our Manhattan office, with a structured onsite/remote schedule determined by clinical needs and space availability.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Conducting comprehensive Neuropsychological and Educational Evaluations and writing comprehensive reports in a timely manner
  • Conducting neurodevelopmental (NDD) evaluations and autism specific evaluations using semi-structured psychiatric interviews, cognitive and developmental assessments, language assessments, adaptive assessments, and ASD diagnostic tools. Feedback sessions and writing comprehensive reports that are completed in a timely manner


  • Providing school consultation and advocacy regarding accommodations and interventions for our students
  • Contributing to development of new program ideas; participates in grant proposals; active participation in clinical research projects
  • Supervising and teaching of trainees across disciplines
  • Provisioning of didactic seminars to psychology and psychiatry fellows and trainees
  • Participating in continuing education such as weekly Case Conference and Grand Rounds Conducting public workshops, provide written content for the NYU website
  • Participating in 2-3 direct activities that support our department's mission to disseminate evidence-based information, including providing Child Study Center parent workshops, writing for the website, speaking on DoctorRadio and/or equivalent annually
  • Participating in research activities when appropriate
  • Adhering to the code of ethics of your professional organization and the medical center

Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The annual salary range for a full-time junior faculty role is $114,420 to $116,792. Candidates who qualify for higher faculty appointments are also encouraged to apply. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including faculty appointment, credentials, research history, specialty, and health system need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

In addition to the annual salary listed, psychologists are typically eligible for supplemental compensation ranging from $31,300 to $80,000 in the first year of practice.


  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA- or CPA- accredited psychology program
  • An internship with experience in neuropsychology and completion of a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology
  • Eligibility for licensure in New York
  • Demonstrated expertise in neuropsychological, psychological and educational assessments with children, adolescents and young adults with learning disorders, psychiatric conditions and various neurological complications that affect learning and cognitive functioning
  • Demonstrated experience in working clinically with complex comorbid presentations including mood, anxiety, personality, and other psychiatric disorders
  • Ability to navigate educational systems and determine appropriate school placements, accommodations and supports
  • Comprehensive reports written and provided within a structured timeframe.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of health care professionals
  • Prior experience supervising neuropsychology trainees
  • Familiarity with clinical research and data analysis is a plus
