Role Summary:
Ensure that all terminal, pipeline, marine and/or rail (as applicable) operations are performed in a safe, reliable and environmentally conscious manner and that operations remain in compliance with the Company mission, policy, and direction. A Terminal Specialist II may be responsible for multiple field locations or a field location with a larger asset size or complex operations. Primary job responsibilities include leading day-to-day activities related to the receipt, storage, inventory control and delivery of liquid petroleum products for the assigned field location(s), ensuring financial accountability for the assigned field location(s), responding to emergency response notifications when required, managing employee relations and payroll issues, and ensuring a safe working environment for everyone within the assigned field location(s).
Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:
Mentor Lead / Head Terminal Operators to ensure compliance of all agency requirements
Assist Operations Manager with employee relations
Lead and/or act as facilitator to bring Team to High Performance Status
Respond as Alternate Qualified Individual to emergency response notifications when required.
Ensure Internal/External Notifications for Incidents, and Releases are being completed in a timely fashion
Ensure Terminal Notification Process is being followed for terminal downtime
Lead, and assist where requested, investigation of Operational Excellence Incidents. Suggest appropriate action to prevent recurrence. Follow up to ensure that recommended corrective actions are implemented.
Lead resolution of Terminal Operations issues, including documentation and training to eliminate future similar issues
Serve as the Team Leader and Mentor to new and developing Operators
Train field personnel on the following as applicable:
Terminal Truck Loading / Unloading Operations Policies and Procedures
Terminal Marine Operations Policies and Procedures
Terminal Rail Operations Policies and Procedures
Terminal Pipeline Operations Policies and Procedures
Effectively plan and lead meetings and training
Complete Procedure Review Audits and follow up with individuals to ensure understanding of any deficiencies.
Recommend improvement/changes in Buckeye policies and procedures based on expertise or learned knowledge.
Actively participate and lead in the installation, setup, and training of project installations.
Suggest improvements to supporting disciplines on projects relating to Terminal Operations.
Assist with Contractor Expectations in compliance with the Contractor Safety Manual
Train the Team in the understanding and functions of the Terminal Automation System (TMS)
Review Terminal Losses and Gains and assist with Inventory Balancing issues as needed
Confirm Terminal Folio Comments are Entered for all out of tolerance inventories, train Operators as necessary
Confirm all meter proving and temperature calibrations are being completed and documented, train operators as needed
Confirm all required sampling is being completed and results are recorded as required
Ensure M&QC "Blue Book" is kept up to date
Ensure all Tank Inspections are completed as required and on time
And other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
5+ years of Pipeline or Terminal Operations or equivalent industry experience required.
If applicable to location, experience with Marine Terminal Operations is preferred.
General knowledge or experience in the petroleum industry is required.
Experience managing operations helpful.
Up to 20% Travel Required

Individuals must have the knowledge and ability to analyze and solve both personnel and Terminal operational issues.
Good communication skills, with all levels of the organizations, are required. Should possess leadership abilities and promote a strong team environment.
Individual should be a self-starter who is able to work with limited oversight and take ownership and responsibility for their assigned location(s).
Although a large portion of the time may be spent in an office environment, the incumbent is also required to spend time in the field environment.
Must meet medical criteria established by OSHA for emergency response, work long hours in the field and wear a respirator. Not sure if this is necessary?
Occasional travel may be required.
Individual must consistently exhibit a high level of customer service and insist on a high level of customer service from the Asset Team.
Individual must be available during non-work hours as required and will be required to carry a cell phone at all times. Normal and extraordinary work circumstances may require, without notice, extended hours, weekend and/or holiday work.

Physical & Safety Requirements:
This role is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
This position requires the employee to regularly access and work at or around heights in excess of 5 feet, moving mechanical parts, moving on-track rail equipment, petroleum product or other chemical fumes, airborne particles like dust or other chemicals, vibration, uneven terrain, and high noise level in the work environment.
The incumbent must meet medical criteria established by OSHA for emergency response.
This position may require exposure to hazardous environments and require the wearing of a respirator.
The incumbent in this role must wear Fire Retardant Clothing (FRC) and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
This position is subject to DOT drug and alcohol regulations
