Overview
Oversees the accounting function for manufacturing operations ensuring financial integrity, driving efficiency, ensuring compliance, and providing leadership. Supports strategic decision-making that improves profitability and manages risk across the operations function.
Responsibilities
Oversees the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for manufacturing operations.
- Oversees the forecasting and budgeting process for manufacturing operations.
- Provides detailed financial analysis, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement and presents financial results and recommendations to senior management.
- Develops and manages capital expenditure (Capex) budgets for manufacturing plants, ensuring accurate forecasting, tracking, and reporting to optimize financial performance and support strategic business objectives.
- Develops financial models to support business initiatives, expansion, and cost-saving strategies.
- Ensures internal controls are adhered to and company policies and external regulatory requirements followed.
- Partners with operations leadership to provide financial insights that drive business decisions and growth.
- Drives process improvement, productivity, and margin enhancement.
- Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management; department budget.
Qualifications
Job Skills Requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of all disciplines of accounting and applicable laws and regulations; knowledge of GAAP and SEC regulations on annual, quarterly and special event reporting.
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment in guiding divisional accounting team in planning, execution, and compliance about a variety of accounting practices.
- Good understanding of internal control systems and their use in obtaining reliable and timely financial records and information.
- Great communication skills include negotiation, influencing, and consensus building to interface with employees/customers at all levels within organization and external customers, vendors, and agencies.
- Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong computer literacy.
- Ability to forecast and develop budgets.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- CPA license active status preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting.
- Prior leadership and management experience in a large, complex organization strongly preferred; public accounting experience preferred.
