ROLE OVERVIEW:

This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year round.

This position is responsible to safely operate screed to place bituminous asphalt mix to proper depth, width and smoothness per contract specifications. Will need to display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)



  1. Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
  2. Safely and properly perform maintenance on paving
  3. Safely and properly operate adjusting mechanism of paving machine. Bolts extensions to screed to adjust width as
  4. Heat screed at beginning of
  5. Observes distribution of paving material along screed and controls direction of
  6. Clean screed at end of
  7. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written). Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of
  8. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, ). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  9. Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation
  10. Performs other duties as assigned


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)



  1. Ability to hold and maintain a driver's license in accordance with all state regulations.
  2. Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
  3. Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and some Saturdays.
