Where You'll Make a Difference

  • Perform exploratory research in the synthetic preparation of new ingredients for taste evaluations and potential commercialization.

  • Explore scientific literature to identify natural and synthetic routes to molecular targets; execute these routes under manager supervision.

  • Conduct experimental work safely in a collaborative team setting, maintaining strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.

  • Develop and optimize chemical processes for new and existing taste ingredients with a focus on improving efficiency and lowering manufacturing costs.

  • Carry out diverse organic chemistry reactions on gram to kilogram scale using a wide range of reagents.

  • Purify reaction mixtures via chromatography, distillation, recrystallization, and other standard purification techniques.

  • Characterize reaction intermediates and products using appropriate analytical tools.

  • Utilize new technologies to accelerate research workflows and improve scientific output.

  • Participate in team meetings, project discussions, and cross-functional activities.

What Makes You the Right Fit

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field with hands-on laboratory experience (required). Preferred: Master's degree with coursework in synthetic organic chemistry.

  • Strong foundational understanding of synthetic organic chemistry principles.

  • Demonstrated ability to purify, isolate, and characterize reaction products.

  • Experience performing reactions at bench scale with accuracy and consistency.

  • Ability to navigate chemical literature to identify feasible synthetic pathways.

  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail in record keeping.

  • Commitment to safety and adherence to laboratory best practices.

  • Clear, effective communication and strong teamwork skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time efficiently.

How Would You Stand Out?

  • Experience scaling chemical reactions from gram to kilogram quantities.

  • Familiarity with process development or cost optimization in chemical manufacturing.

  • Exposure to modern synthetic technologies (e.g., flow chemistry, microwave reactors, automated purification).
