Great Hill Solutions is looking to hire a part-time Cyber Event Director to support our client at Eglin AFB. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance and supports a high-visibility Department of War (DoW) cyber testing, training, and mission rehearsal environment.The Cyber Event Director leads the design, planning, and execution of complex cyber training and testing events, ensuring technically accurate, realistic cyber terrain aligned to real-world threats and DoW mission requirements. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to serve as the primary liaison between Government sponsors, operators, and technical teams. Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide support across all phases of cyber event operations, including event design and scenario development; environment build, configuration, and integration; execution, and post-event analysis and reporting.
- Design realistic, complex cyber event scenarios and cyber terrain reflecting real-world threats, tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Ensure cyber environments align with DoW mission objectives and training or testing goals.
- Oversee setup, configuration, and integration of cyber range systems and tools.
- Lead technical execution during live events, resolving issues in real time to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Government sponsors and users.
- Present event designs, collect requirements, and coordinate execution across multiple stakeholders.
- Facilitate collaboration between Government personnel and technical teams.
- Lead and mentor junior staff and technical teams through complex event scenarios.
- Conduct post-event analysis and document lessons learned.
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations to improve future cyber events.
- Draft advanced word processing, specialized spreadsheets, chart preparation, and graphics utilizing Microsoft Office products for Government review and approval.
- Create or modify presentations both electronically and printed as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university OR two (8) years of relevant experience.
- Strong technical background in:
- Network design and architecture.
- Virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware).
- Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Cybersecurity tools and platforms.
- DoW cybersecurity standards (e.g., STIGs, RMF).
- Experience leading complex cyber events, cyber range operations, or technical project execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to lead small, highly technical teams, including remote team members.
- Flexible, mission-focused, and able to resolve issues under operational pressure.
Desired Skills:
- Experience working in a military environment and be able to recognize militaryranks and address senior military personnel appropriately.
- Prior experience supportingNCRC or large-scale DoW cyber ranges.
- Experience integrating offensive and defensive cyber capabilities into live environments.
- Experience briefing senior Government leadership.
- Familiarity with DoW training, testing, and mission rehearsal environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in classified operational settings.
