Job Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Sterile Processing Technician, working Monday through Friday, typically from 11 AM to 7:30 PM. This role does not require working on holidays, weekends, or overnight shifts. However, flexibility to come in early or stay late may be necessary.


Job Responsibilities

  • Apply technical knowledge to prepare instruments, equipment, and supplies for the Ambulatory Surgical Center, adhering to sterile techniques.
  • Ensure proper care and handling of instruments and assist clinical staff by performing assistive and advocacy services in patient care.
  • Follow policies, protocols, and manufacturer's guidelines for reprocessing, assembling, and maintaining specialized instruments and equipment in the operating room and patient care areas. (40%)
  • Care for instruments and equipment, ensuring usage aligns with manufacturers' guidelines. Participate in quality assurance and continuous quality monitoring to recommend changes as needed. (10%)
  • Document required information and maintain records for instruments and equipment. (15%)
  • Engage in continuous education and training in sterile processing, covering decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage processes while adhering to professional standards and regulations. (15%)
  • Identify, pick, and distribute supplies and stock items, including equipment requests, to appropriate areas. Monitor stock levels and assist in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing. (10%)
  • Provide biological and chemical test solutions to ensure quality and consistency for the decontamination of instruments and medical equipment. (5%)
  • Perform other duties as assigned. (5%)


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in a healthcare facility
  • Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD)
  • Previous OR or Med Surg experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Orthopedic tray experience
