Job Summary

Church & Dwight is seeking an Associate Chemist to join our Fabric Care Research and Development team. This role supports R&D activities through the development of new test methods for product performance, in addition to other laboratory-based research and development work.

About the Role

The Associate Chemist will support Fabric Care R&D under the supervision of a Senior Product Development Scientist. The role operates in alignment with Church & Dwight R&D Core Principles, including teamwork, consumer and customer focus, personal responsibility and integrity, and ethical behavior and practices.

Work Environment

Onsite: This role is based in Princeton, NJ and requires in-person attendance on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • With guidance from the supervisor, design technical plans to develop new test methods to evaluate products and prototypes against established performance goals.

  • Identify and/or develop protocols to ensure robust, reproducible measurements and conduct testing to validate those protocols.

  • Record, analyze, and interpret data; draw conclusions and make recommendations for next steps.

  • Summarize and document results for project updates and technical reports.

  • Evaluate new technologies for potential use in products and prototypes and create demonstrations as needed.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional R&D partners, including Consumer Experience, Safety, Processing, and Packaging, as well as external suppliers and vendors.

  • Provide guidance and direction to laboratory technicians and/or temporary employees, including task prioritization.

Education and Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1+ years of laboratory experience.
Compensation and Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $59,400.00 - $84,500.00 USD annually. This position is also eligible for a bonus.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay parity. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
