Primary Responsibilities:

  • Gathering data from various sources and ensuring data quality through techniques such as correlation analysis, outlier detection, imputation of missing values, data standardization, and deduplication
  • Assisting in the development of predictive and prescriptive models to uncover insights and drive actionable outcomes
  • Developing monitoring metrics to evaluate model performance in real-world scenarios and providing recommendations for future model improvements
  • Creating detailed summaries, reports, and recommendations to support managerial decision-making

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited master's program throughout the duration of the internship - internships are not intended for graduating seniors
  • Pursuing a master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or another related quantitative field
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and evaluating data science models (such as regression analysis, classification algorithms, clustering techniques) on real-world datasets.
  • Experience applying statistical methods to real-world datasets; familiarity with data cleansing techniques such as correlation analysis, outlier detection, imputation of missing values, standardization, and deduplication
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for data analysis and modeling (e.g., Python, R), as well as database management using SQL
  • Proven solid academic record with demonstrated coursework or research experience in statistical analysis, machine learning, and/or predictive modeling
  • Proven excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; able to interpret complex data and communicate actionable insights through reports and visualizations
  • Proven effective communication skills-able to translate technical findings into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven solid organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA
  • 1 or more actuarial exams passed
  • Demonstrated knowledge or interest in a career as an Actuarial Data Scientist

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $27.00 to $37.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
